From: Terry D. Hilmer, President and Chief Executive Officer
In this month of November, the month of remembrance, I’d like to begin by saluting those individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces and to those families who have sacrificed in keeping this nation, the land of the free. As one who does dare to dream, I acknowledge that it those who have sacrificed in service giving of their time, their energy, their loved ones, and yes sometimes of their lives, whether at home or on foreign soil, it is you who have kept the American Dreams alive. Thank You!
November is also known as the month for giving Thanks with our celebration for Thanksgiving. Over the years, Thanksgiving has been transformed from its original intent to celebrate the creation of the Constitution of the United States, to one that celebrates the founding of the United States of America. This has occurred, in part, to the many artist renderings portraying the Thanksgiving Feast shared between the early settlers (Pilgrims) and the Indians who lived in this newly discovered world. As we celebrate our Thanksgiving with family and friends, may we each take a moment and give thanks for the many rights, privileges, and freedoms we have as a result of the Constitution of the United States.
I want to remind all of you that it is not uncommon for a television show to take several years from its original concept to initial date of airing. As a general rule, during the development phase, the public is rarely privy to a television shows existence. Typically they are held in utmost secrecy as they work out each detail, overcome obstacles, and prepare for filming. In contrast, “My Fantasy Racer” has been exposed to you to provide motivation and hope for those of you who have joined with us offering your encouragement and support.
As you know, in our appreciation for your supports, we have made every effort to be honest and sincere with you. In the current economic environment we, like many others, have been faced with many hardships that we have been forced to deal with and have caused certain delays. In fact, we feel it is safe to say that we have had more than our fair share of obstacles to overcome. Although at times, the walls appeared tall, giving up was never an option and we have fought back always managing to persevere. At times, the decision to stay the course has created other personal hardships, I am very proud of the team who has stood by me and those of you who have given us the encouragement to continue moving forward.
Many of you have been anticipating our official launch date of November 16, 2009. In the Guestbook, Carol, a Contestant Applicant, expressed her excitement checking in frequently, or “obsessively” as she put it, watching for the posting of our final Casting Call Schedule. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control have created obstacles that must be overcome before we can proceed. Although I have little doubt that we will be victorious, this obstacle is significant and requires our immediate address and attention. I dare say that this may take some time to navigate.
On Friday October 30, 2009, Dover Motorsports, owners of the Memphis Motorsports Park, announced their intention of closing the Memphis facility. They rescheduled the 2010 Memphis Nationwide Races to another of their facilities in Nashville. The Camping World Truck Series was moved to St. Louis, and the Memphis NHRA Drag Race has, to date, been terminated changing that series from 24 to a 23 race schedule. Every effort has been made to renegotiate use of the facility, but at this time to no avail. We have been provided other opportunities that are under consideration, but will require review of every detail involved which will take some time.
By no means are we defeated. There are many choices and options at our disposal. We are not alone in facing the obstacles created by Dover’s decision. The Race-On Driving Experience, our show affiliate has an eight year history at the Memphis facility and is not going to simply roll over and play dead letting their successful business end. Do know that every option is being explored and appreciate that I am not at liberty to discuss them at this time. Consider the time, money, and stakes and you can rest assured that plenty is happening behind the scenes to expeditiously resolve these issues. Although it will cause a delay in our official launch, we have no reason to believe that our 2010 shooting schedule slated to begin in March 2010 will be affected.
During the coming days, you will notice changes being made to this Web Site. For legal concerns and to protect the integrity of this show, we feel it will be necessary to omit certain location specific information until new contracts are engaged or locations revealed. As we are able, we will share with you any pertinent information as it develops. We thank you in advance for your continued support and understanding. This could be resolved as early as next week or as late as next month. The one thing that we can assure you of is that it will be resolved and we will only be that much stronger for the wear.
Finally, I personally believe in the power of prayer, and if you are so inclined, I’d very much appreciate us being included in yours. Thank You!

PS: Yellow was an appropriate color to use to make this announcement, it represents the Yellow Flag, which serves to slow us down, but DOES NOT STOP US!
